Re: People objecting to the Verification process should familiarise themselves with the story of E-Gold@Caine What's worse, there used to be "Basic" holding status which just required online verification that I passed. I used to be able to withdraw funds just fine some months ago, but now, from one day to another, I am no longer able to do so! Complaining about this, customer care reponded "If you wish to withdraw funds, your Holding must be fully verified." How can they just make such a fundamental change without any prior notice?! Now I am suddenly unable to get any money out of my holding without going through a cumbersome manual verification process (again!) that requires certification by a notary public.
I fully agree that verification in general is important - but that should be done through a convenient online process as other fintecs do. And the worst thing you can do is just changing the rules for existing customers without telling them and without any explaination as I described above. I am very disappointed.
Thank you very much @KatyMillington for listening to Goldmoney's community and keeping us here updated!
I am really looking forward to the expedited and simplified electronic ID verification process and hope it will also be available in Austria and other EU countries.
I have to agree with all the others that this form of direct communication between top level executives of a company and it's customer is truely unique and in my opinion one of Goldmoney's biggest assets. Looking forward to the continuing improvements of your service!
@KatyMillington Thank you for your comment, but could you please be a little bit more specific?
Are you refering to
1. a simplified process for Goldmoney Personal clients to be easily migrated to a BASIC Holding
2. a simplified process to upgrade to / be migrated to / open a FULL Holding (at least for existing Goldmoney Personal clients)
I find the latter one even more important (OK, I already had a BASIC "Wealth" Holding as well anyway) and it worries me way more than the storage fees most people are currently focussing and complaining about. At the moment only the FULL Holding offers MasterCard for example which was a core feature for Personal accounts and available to all clients.
@rhp I also see the REAL problem in the currently extremely cumbersome verification process required to open a Full Holding - it worries me way more than the storage fees. How many clients are willing to go through the hassle of having their passport legally certified by a notary public, provide certified proof for source of wealth and submit all these documents printed by mail?
I can only hope they will simplify this process as currently discussed here:
@mr1 Except from the new fee structure (that I highly appreciate) I don't see any of these new features in my Goldmoney Wealth account either yet and was also wondering about the very same thing.
