Store Of Value! with gold, it holds its value over time (5000 years) meaning your time and effort will always be preserved.

With fiat money (currency), it is not a store of value as it does not hold it's value over time (median fiat currency since 1971 has lost 97.79% of its purchasing power).. The time and effort that it took the hardworking citizen in 1971 to earn that money was just eroded due to inflation, also from 2000 the average citizen has lost 75.82% of its purchasing power in fiat!

BitGold truly represents sound money!

Well put @BlueJays . I suppose we can ask the question: why does fiat money lose value? Every government, of every type, cannot resist the tempation of creating money out of nothing to meet its perceived needs. Decades ago they discovered it was easier to inflate than to tax and it has gone downhill ever since. The citizens are like the lobster in the pot of warming water. They don't realize they are being cooked alive until its too late! Do we even know anymore how much debt there is in the world? Two hundred trillion? Can the average person even get their mind around what a trillion represents? Gold at least offers an alternative anchored in reality.

@GrandpaBrian, deep stuff. You poise interesting questions about how little we really know. Tangible gold and others seems real over nebulous numbers bantered about.

Yes @ BlueJays, thanks to BitGold that save us from deceit, depreciation and usury of fiat money. Is Gold or Fiat Money to be blame in this economics turmoil?
