However, we humans do seem to survive our many mistakes even if we rarely learn from them. I do think that the money printing experiments of the central banks will end, as they always do, like a bad frat party.
In which case, having a decent stash of gold money will help one deal with the hangover.

I only have one objection to the video. At one point he says that the Fed creates money and that is wrong because it should be the job of the Treasury to create money. But according to the constitution, the treasury doesn't have the power to create money. It can coin money, or borrow it..NOT create it.
Coining is simply minting silver or gold coins from gold and silver brought in by private persons, and stamping it with a certain purity and weight. This was the state of affairs in the Treasury for most of the 1800's.
Wrong or not … the Fed was created in 1913 to create currency, which most of the unenlightened call money. Since then the value of the dollar has declined.
Of course the worst decline occurred in 1971 when Nixon took US off of the gold standard.
